Aluna - An Ecological Warning by the Kogi People
Aluna means "conscience ". Enter the last theocratic chiefdom in America, hidden for centuries on a mountain in Colombia. The Kogi have made this amazing documentary to help us understand how to avoid the destruction of the world that they are trying to protect, and of ourselves.
My Aluna Journey
As a visual artist and one who is concerned with the emerging climate change, the Aluna film inspired
me to create a new series of paintings reflecting the world view of the Kogi peoples with their binding black and gold threads.
